Should we do PGT-A on our embryos?
I am 38 with four blastocysts. The clinic offered PGT-A. Does it guarantee a baby and is it required?
Short answer: PGT-A screens embryos for chromosome copy number to reduce some miscarriage and failed-transfer risk from aneuploidy. It does not guarantee live birth, can be wrong in mosaic calls, adds cost, and is optional—most useful in selected higher-risk situations.

Potential benefits
Aneuploidy rises with egg age. Transferring a euploid blastocyst can improve implantation efficiency per transfer and lower some aneuploidy-related miscarriage risk. It may also reduce transfers of embryos with little chance of healthy birth.

Answer #2
Limits you must hear before consent
Biopsy and testing add cost and rare embryo risk. Mosaic results need careful counselling. PGT-A does not fix uterine factors or guarantee pregnancy. With few embryos, testing might leave no euploid to transfer in a given cohort—discuss that possibility openly.

Get matched to one ART-registered clinic after consent — not a directory of calls.
Answers are general education for patients in India, not a diagnosis or personal medical advice. Best IVF Centers is a fertility matching service, not a clinic or hospital. Always follow your treating doctor's instructions. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital.
