Guide
Male infertility tests
Male-factor findings are common in fertility work-ups. A semen analysis is often the first test; further tests depend on results and history. This guide covers the usual conversation — it is not a diagnosis. Best IVF Centers does not collect semen reports on the matching form and does not treat patients.
Why male testing matters
Fertility is not only a female work-up. Semen findings can shape whether a doctor discusses IUI, IVF, ICSI, or other steps. Testing early can save time and repeated cycles that do not address the real issue.
Semen analysis basics
Labs look at volume, concentration, motility, and morphology using their reference ranges. One sample is not always the full story — doctors sometimes repeat the test. Ask the clinic how to prepare (abstinence period, illness, medicines).
When further tests are discussed
Depending on results, a doctor may suggest hormones, infection screens, ultrasound, or specialist urology input. Genetic tests are considered in specific situations. Best IVF Centers does not order or interpret these tests.
Lifestyle and timing notes
Clinics may discuss smoking, heat exposure, steroids, and recent fever because they can affect samples. These are counselling points, not guarantees that changing one habit will change outcomes.
How results connect to treatment talks
Mild findings may still fit IUI in some plans; significant findings may lead to IVF with ICSI discussions. The decision is medical and personal. We do not pick ICSI or IUI for you.
