I miscarried after IVF. When can we try again?
We had a biochemical pregnancy after FET, then a miscarriage at 7 weeks in the next transfer. How long should we wait, and do we need PGT-A?
Short answer: Many clinics allow another attempt after one menstrual cycle once bleeding settles and ultrasound confirms a clear uterus, but timing is individual. Recurrent-loss evaluation and optional PGT-A counselling depend on age and history.
Answer #1
Physical clearance comes first
Wait until hCG is negative or appropriately trending, bleeding has stopped and a scan shows no retained tissue. Emotionally, some couples proceed quickly and others need more time—both are valid once medically cleared.

Answer #2
Investigations after more than one loss
After two clinical losses, evaluation may include parental karyotypes, antiphospholipid antibodies, thyroid function, cavity assessment and embryo-quality review. PGT-A can reduce some aneuploidy-related loss in selected patients but does not guarantee success and adds cost.

- Heavy bleeding soaking pads hourly
- Severe pain or dizziness
- Fever after miscarriage treatment
- Passing very large clots with weakness
Want help finding a clinic?
Get matched to one ART-registered clinic after consent — not a directory of calls.
Answers are general education for patients in India, not a diagnosis or personal medical advice. Best IVF Centers is a fertility matching service, not a clinic or hospital. Always follow your treating doctor's instructions. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital.
