Which days are best to try if I have a 28-day cycle?
My periods are regular every 28 days. We have been trying for 6 months. Which days matter most, and is every-other-day intercourse enough?
Short answer: In a textbook 28-day cycle, ovulation is often around day 14. The fertile window is roughly days 10 to 15. Intercourse every 1 to 2 days in that window is usually enough; daily is not required.
Answer #1
The fertile window explained
Sperm can survive a few days in the reproductive tract, while the egg survives about 12 to 24 hours after ovulation. Intercourse in the days leading up to ovulation covers the window better than focusing only on the exact day. LH kits and mucus help but are imperfect alone.

Answer #2
When to get evaluated
After 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse under age 35, or after 6 months at 35 or older, a fertility workup is recommended. Seek earlier review with irregular cycles, known endometriosis, prior pelvic surgery or abnormal semen analysis.
