Why did IVF fail when the embryos looked good?
We transferred a 5AA blastocyst and it did not implant. Lining was 9 mm. What are common reasons and what should we change next?
Short answer: Even top-graded embryos do not always implant. Chromosomal issues invisible on morphology, endometrial factors, timing and chance all play roles. A structured cycle review guides the next plan.
Answer #1
Morphology is not genetics
Grading describes appearance, not chromosomes. A visually excellent blastocyst can still be aneuploid. A single failed transfer with a good embryo is common and not proof something is permanently wrong with you.

Answer #2
A calm next-cycle checklist
Review stimulation, fertilisation method, embryo notes, transfer ease, luteal support and lifestyle. Consider hysteroscopy if the cavity was never well evaluated. Decide whether another similar transfer or added testing is proportionate. Emotional support matters as much as labs.

- Heavy bleeding or infection symptoms after procedures
Want help finding a clinic?
Get matched to one ART-registered clinic after consent — not a directory of calls.
Answers are general education for patients in India, not a diagnosis or personal medical advice. Best IVF Centers is a fertility matching service, not a clinic or hospital. Always follow your treating doctor's instructions. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital.
