What counts as repeated implantation failure?
Two FETs with good blastocysts failed. Is that repeated implantation failure? Do I need ERA, immunology or PGT immediately?
Short answer: Definitions vary; many clinicians consider RIF after several transfers of good embryos. Add-on tests should be selective. PGT-A, cavity evaluation and protocol review are more often useful than large unproven immune panels.
Answer #1
Start with fundamentals
Confirm embryo quality details, thaw survival, transfer difficulty, smoking status, BMI, thyroid, and cavity anatomy. Chronic endometritis testing and hysteroscopy are considered in selected cases. Two failures hurt deeply but do not automatically require every add-on on the market.

Answer #2
ERA and immunology — use selectively
ERA and similar receptivity tests have mixed evidence and are not universal standards. Extensive immunological treatments lack consistent proof for routine RIF. Ask which result will change management and what the live-birth evidence is before spending further.

Call your clinic or go to the hospital the same day if you have
- Severe psychological distress needing support
- Procedure infection symptoms

Get matched to one ART-registered clinic after consent — not a directory of calls.
Answers are general education for patients in India, not a diagnosis or personal medical advice. Best IVF Centers is a fertility matching service, not a clinic or hospital. Always follow your treating doctor's instructions. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital.
